The Making Of |
|
 |
|
|
| In November 2003, Pottsville GTC began a All-Star
Cheerleading Squad with the goal of offering opportunities for
young ladies to showcase their cheerleading talent through
local, state and eventually national competitions.
Since Pottsville GTC has always had a star-theme, the name of
the cheerleading team is the "Cheer Stars". Thirteen
girls were chosen as members of the newly formed squad.

| January 2003 |
| The Cheer Stars made it's first
public debut at Winter Carnival where they were the guest
entertainment for the Snow Drop/Snow Princess pageant held at
Pottsville Area High School's auditorium. |
| |
| March 2003 |
| Time for their first
competition! The Cheer Stars competed in the Keystone
State competition held at Penn State's Rec Hall in University
Park. Despite practicing only four months as a team, the
Cheer Stars captured the third place team trophy.
Congratulations! |

| May 2003 |
| |
| The Cheer Stars competed in the
Hershey Park Open hosted by Cheer Power. The improvement
of the squadfrom their first competition to this one was super.
The girls won the fourth place team trophy! Great job
girls! |

Our first season has concluded
and we want to say congratulations to members of the Cheer Stars
Elite for a great beginning to our new competitive cheerleading
program! While some girls decided it was too hard for them
or it took too much time to excel so they left the squad, these ten girls stuck together
as a team and gave it their all! Congratulations to Lisa
Rodgers, Megan Breidigan, Nichole Lucas, Samantha Roshannon,
Kendra Grube, Emily Gordon, Laura Dolbin, Kelly Gilbert, Melanie
Zilker and Stephanie Miller. You are all shining stars!
